Hi All -
We are hoping that you and your families are keeping safe during these crazy times! It's been in the works for a while, but we have finally gotten all the details worked out and plan to have a cross country season this year. It will look a little different, but we're still planning to train and race.
This season we will manage a small, focused roster of athletes. While we have always had a mix of athletes by age and ability, we want to focus on athletes who are committed to training AND racing (no part-time or practice only runners - no exceptions). Therefore, returning returners who plan to run full-time and middle-school aged athletes (ages 11 and up who can run at least a 9:45 mile) will be given priority placement. If additional spaces remain, we will open them up to runners who meet these criteria and will approach training seriously. Younger runners will be considered on a case-by-case basis. **Please note these restrictions are due to COVID-19 restrictions and meant to limit the number of runners in one place and allow for social distancing. At this time, we plan to have a Spring 2021 track season as well that will be open to a larger population.
· Official practice begins Monday, August 31 (delayed start due to COVID-19)
· Practice runs 6pm to 8pm, Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, meeting at and around Marietta High School and Kennesaw National Battlefield Park
· Racing season will begin in late-September with the Alpha Crush meet (tentative date is 9/26) and run through early December
Additional information is attached. All documents will be required before an athlete can practice. If you have a credit from spring track season, please just let me know when you submit your registration form.
Just let me know if you have any questions.
